You know those childhood sweet spots you always cherish forever? I am spending my summer break from Uni in Tumkur, India with my grandparents. The other day we decided that it has been quite a while since we visited my favorite spot. As a kid I rememeber going on family trips here every few months. When I say family, I mean the crazy twentyfive to thirty extended family too. However, these days because we're all grown up and living our own lives, it has become quite hard for us all to meet up and do things like we used to. Since I have a little more free time, I decided to take my younger cousins out on a family day here. It is called 'Basadi Betta' - Basadi being the Jain temple and Betta meaning a hill in Kanada. It is basically a hill with a Jain temple on the top. The hill has stairs that lead all the way to the top which houses the temple along with a magnificent view of nature.
It took us about 25 mintues to climb all the way up.
By the time we reached the top, unfortunetely the temple was shut but we still enjoyed walking around the top of the hill, breathing in fresh air taking in the wonderful view of the sunset.
I cant wait to explore more around Tumkur. There are so many places I used to go as a kid. It will be fun to rekindle all the fun memories.
Love,
Sanj
