Have you heard of Maruti Vidya Kendra? If that was a no, then why not? It's only the best school that exists. Having said this, I am of course biased because it is after all the school my family runs. The school was started by my great grandfather and is now being run by my grand mother. Everybody in my family has some sort of part in running it. My grandmother's brothers and sisters also run affiliated schools with different curriculums. My mother's first job, who now works in the corporate world was as a teacher at the school when she graduated. My cousins and myself have also studied at this school. So you can see, we've all had some form of connection with the school and hold it dear to our hearts.
Each year, schools in India put a show together, where all the students participate in either dance, drama or singing. Now that I'm back home for Christmas, it so happened that this year I was able to attend MVK's 'Kala Pranjali' annual day. It has been years since I attended one of them and ever since I booked my tickets back in September to come home, I have been looking forward to being at this event. I have attached a few pictures that I took from the night of different performances. It was quite an experience being sat front raw watching such amazing talent. It was in fact nostalgic as I was once that kid who was nervous to be on that stage having not just my own parents but all my friends' parents watch me too. I am so proud of all that MVK show cased over two days. The talent of all the kids who performed, truly deserved a standing ovation.
My friends back from Nottingham, who are also from Bangalore, India have all come back home for the Holidays too and I insisted they come to Tumkur and watch the annual day with me. It's no surprise that they were astonished by the performance that the students and teachers put together. My friends being there made that night so much more special and enjoyable. Well done MVK; I look forward to all the future events and annual day, which I am sure will surpass this year.
Love,
Sanjana
