Now that Christmas is over and everyone has eaten more than they can handle this holiday season, it's time to start counting days and hours to the clock turning to a new year. It has been a big trend these past two weeks as we're getting close to starting the new year - every social media I opened I've been seeing people post their nine best pictures from 2015. I thought this was such a lovely idea and a quirky way to reflect on the year. I have decided to share a little personal side of my life here and show you my highlights of this year.
This is from my first day at Nottingham Trent University. It was so surreal sitting in that royal theatre where the welcome to university talk was held with thousands of other freshers who were all equally nervous and excited to start a new journey. I am so proud of myself for working so hard and getting myself in to my first choice University.
I've finally learnt how to drive! Hallelujah! When I lived in Australia, most of my friends had started driving at the age of 16. Though it has taken me a few extra years, I'm every happy to finally have my hands on that wheel.
This was taken at the airport before I jetted all by myself to the UK. There started my journey of living a truly independent life.
I wanted a tattoo and a helix piercing for as long as I can possibly remember and I finally got them both done! More than anything, I am so proud of myself to have finally gotten over the fear of the pain and done something I've wanted forever. I am so happy with them both.
On my last day at Norton college finishing A-Levels. I love this picture so much taken with my best friend.
The last photo taken with all my Norton squad. I am so glad to have met them and missing them incredibly!
Though this year has had mostly ups, unfortunately one of the down's was loosing my paternal grandad. I haven't spent much time with him over the years since I've always lived away from India but I am really grateful to have spent one of his last days with him.
One of my favourite day from this year was the night my maternal grandparents surprised me with a dinner party with all my family members just before I left for Uni. I was showered with flowers and wishes.
Last but not the least is a photo taken with two of my friends that I've grown close to from Nottingham. It was such a lovely day when they came to visit me at home in India. I wish I could show you every photo of the Nottingham squad but I think that would require atleast 10 more blog posts. This one is a good representative of my life with my squad filled with smiles and joy.
I have had one of the best years so far. It will defiantly not be forgotten. I hope you have all had an incurable year too. I am so excited for the coming year and have a really good feeling about this one.
