Pointless Book Signing

Hello for the last time from 2014
I laterally cannot believe its officially 2015. How crazy!
I hope y'all have an ace year ahead.

Through out this week, I've been going through things in my life that I know is full of clutter and organising it. In fact, I even got a FiloFax which is essentially a diary/planner. I'll let you know how I'm doing with that another day when I get more into it. But, I was going through my camera roll and realised how fun this year has been. My grandparents for the first time visited my mom and I in the Uk, I turned 18, met a few celebrities, I'm finally in year 13 (I've done 2 years of year 12 because of travelling and moving), I moved out, etc. One of my favourite things that happened this year was meeting Alfie Deyes! For those of you who don't know who Alfie is, he's another awesome person on YouTube that I love very much. He makes really cute and pointless videos which is pretty ironic because his YouTube channel is called 'PointlessBlog'
A couple of months ago, Alfie released a book called 'Pointless Book' which is quite cool. The book is filled with pointless puzzles and games, designed to be filled in when you're bored and in a mood for something pointless to do. Now obviously the YouTube community went crazy, made him number one on various charts for several weeks.

15 Book Covers Goal

They say that best friends are hard to find, that's because I've got her!

I met my bestest chummy, Erin (10 points if you know where that reference is from) at the start of my college year. We spent practically every minute together, either in class, each others house or on the phone. We went to an iPad launch together once, which was right after halloween night. Since we wanted to be the first in line, we decided to stay up all night so we don't miss it. Of course we were first in line and I was the first to get my hands on the new iPad Air. After all the hurrays and jumping about buying the new iPad, we stood outside the apple store for about 2 minutes looking at the time in silence because we were shocked. We realised that we did not stop talking for 19 hours. Yup, I kid you not, without a break for 19 hours! I knew right then that she would be a big part of my life.

Homemade Cookies

Hello lovelies,
How are you? I hope you're all having an amazing time this holiday season and I hope you had the best Christmas. Did Santa bring everything you asked for? I sure got spoilt rotten this year!

On boxing day I was catching up on all my favourite YouTubers vlogmas videos, where they vlog everyday of December till Christmas. I noticed that they were all baking some form of festive cookies. This obviously made me extremely jealous and hungry. I've always been into baking but I used to buy the ready to bake mix and pretend it was all my doing but really all I did was pour it into a bow and mix.  It might possibly run in my family as my father owns a bakery, my grandma is known for her excellence in baking and my cousins recently have been posting a lot of baked cakes and cookies photos on Facebook.

With all the inspirational photos and videos, I googled and YouTubed a few recipes and I decided to give it a try. This was really exciting because I had never baked anything from scratch.

Girl Online

Eyup everybody! How are you?

I am one of those people that never, ever reads books.  I mean, its not that I don't want  to... I just don't have the attention span to sit and read a whole book.  I'd rather just wait until the movie comes out and watch it then. If you know me at all, you know how crazy I am about YouTube; especially Zoella aka Zoe Sugg who is the author of the newly released novel Girl Online.  She started her career writing a blog as a hobby and a few of her followers suggested she start a YouTube channel, so she gave it a go and today she is a '24 year old vlogger from Brighton, UK who's beauty, fashion and lifestyle videos have gained millions of YouTube subscribers. She won the 2011 Cosmopolitan Blog Award for the Established Beauty Blog and went to win the Best Beauty Vlogger the following year.  Zoe has also received the Best Brittish Vlogger award at the 2013 Radio 1 Teen Awards and the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice award for UK's Favourite Vlogger, and she was named Web Star for Fashion and Beauty at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.' (This is written on her intro page of her debut book. ) It's crazy to think that a girl who just wanted to share her favourite beauty and fashion items, is now known as a 'celebrity'. Newspapers all over the country have been publishing things like 'Zoella's Girl Online outsells JK Rowling' and 'The Vlogger's Girl Online has become the fastest selling debut novel since records began' because she sold over 78,000 copies in the first week.

Every single person in my day-to-day life knows how obsessed I am with Zoe.  I can watch her vlogs and read her blog about 20 times a day.  Its got to the point where I can't sleep until I watch at least 5 minutes of her.  Ever if I've watched it a million times before. (P.s I have her notification turned on for her twitter page so every time she tweets, I hear a 'DING' on my phone, iPad and laptop.  I did say I am obsessed.  No judging!)

My friend Jess, who I live with, obviously knows my addiction and bought me her new book the day it came out as an  early Christmas present.  She even bought a little personalised bookmark with Zoe's face on it that says 'Sanj's Girl Online', and as soon as she gave it to me I probably yelled for about 20 minutes without stopping to take a breath.  My collection of books normally consist of magazines (I don't know if you count them as books but even if not that's the only reading I do, so it's a book for me.) If it wasn't for the fact that it was Zoe's book I would never have truly even thought about reading it.

Having said that, let me assure you that it's a beautiful book.  Why listen to the girl that hardly reads novels? True... but honestly it's such an endearing story that anyone would fall in love with it.  Its about a girl, Penny who is really insecure and shy as she is a teenager and going through all the changes.  Unfortunately, to add to that she also suffers anxiety and panic attacks, which Zoe herself goes through everyday so it's not a surprise that her story is based on it to bring awareness to the readers.  Penny is also a blogger who posts online anonymously and has thousands of people who read her blog.  She goes to New York with her family and best friend Elliot over Christmas and New Year. She falls in love with a Brooklyn boy who shows her all the non tourist things about New York.  It's safe to say that they obviously fall in love.  The story covers things like cyberbullying, relationship  problems, friendship problems and plenty more that every teenager goes through.  The book is definitely not written for my demographic but its such an easy read that it's a pleasure and that's a lot coming from me.

There has been lots of speculation that Girl Online has been written by a ghost writer, to which Zoe then herself admitted she had gotten some help with the book, but everyone needs help. Especially with a debut novel knowing millions of teenage viewers would be waiting to read it.  I personally don't think there is anything wrong in using the help provided by her publishing company seeing as she has mentioned the so called 'ghost writers' in her acknowledgements.

I have officially read my first book all the way to the end.  I could prove it by giving away the last chapter but that would be very mean and also, the twist in the end is a killer!

If you want a light read I would definitely recommend this one.  If you don't want to read the book then do go check her Blog or YouTube channels out because I love her and I think you will too.

What have you been reading recently? What do you think I should read next?

Bygone Halloween

I know Halloween was almost a month ago, bonfire night is gone and its nearly Christmas but it wasn't until last night that I found all these photos and realised that I hadn't written a post. As I have mentioned previously, I have now moved into my own flat, which is so scary even though I share it with 5 other people. It is one of the coolest things I've ever done. On Halloween I decided to have a little party and invite all my friends to show off my cool new flat and of course celebrate halloween. I decorated the flat with cobwebs and red mood lights, which made walking into it really spooky. The cobwebs were really annoying and got stuck to everyone but it was interesting while it lasted.

Here are some of the photo of my friends dressed up and the flat decorated.

All About That Bass

This is my first official 'favourites' post. How exciting! On this page I will be sharing my favourite findings every week. This could include movies, music, people, videos etc. Hopefully you'll fall in love with these things as much as me.

Recently I've been obsessed with the song 'All about that Bass' because one, its catchy and two, the lyrics focus on the good old debate about body fat. What caught my attention were the following lines.

"Yeah, my mama she told me don’t worry about your size
She says, “Boys like a little more booty to hold at night.”
You know I won’t be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that’s what you’re into then go ahead and move along"

Not only do the lyrics have a deeper meaning (which is more than I can say about most music today) but its also extremely addictive!

Let me know if you end up playing this on repeat 1000 times a day like me.

Love,
Sanjana

Bonjour

Hey everyone, welcome to my blog!

I've been thinking about writing a blog for quite some time now as I think its such a fun little corner of the internet all to yourself to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Recently my life has changed a lot. I am now legally an adult (well.. I have been for a few months now but shh!) I have started applying to universities, eeeek! I live in a student flat that I share with 5 other girls, which is really exciting and scary, as it means I have to basically take care of myself, but more about that another time. If you can't tell already, a lot is happening.

I thought this would be the perfect time to start writing a blog as I want this to be some sort of a special life experience journal that I share with, well, you.

I really hope you enjoy it!
