Happy Holidays

I woke up this morning to a cold and gloomy day and remembered that its the 1st of December, which meant it's officially acceptable to put Christmas decorations up and start annoying people with Christmas songs *joyful clap!*. I can't believe it’s the last month of this year and nearly 2015. As crazy as this sounds, I truly believed that the world would end in 2012 so the that fact that we're 30 days away from 2015 baffles me. When all the kids around the world got excited for this glitzy season, I didn't even know it was such a bit festival because my family never celebrated Christmas as its not a big part of Indian culture. Christmas celebrations over 4 years in Australia weren’t really the same as its summer down under. Last year was the first real Christmas I celebrated. I had a little gathering, an actual Christmas tree, exchanged presents and the whole shabang. I was extremely excited because it was a new experience and also because it meant that from then on I was going to make sure I celebrated Christmas every year.

This year, since I live in my own flat, I decided to buy my own Christmas tree. Ahhh! How exciting, my very own Christmas tree! I invited a few friends over to help me set up and decorate. I thought I'd share a few pictures and maybe get you excited for Christmas too!

These are my mates and I trying to figure out how to balance the tree

Once we eventually figured it out, It was time to separate all the branches (fake of course as I couldn't afford a real one on a student budget)

While we are all hard at work decorating, my flat mate Jess sat and ate her pasta,
watching us struggle - Miss. Evil

This is my flat mate, Sadiyah loving decorating

I bought a snowflake bauble, which made me very happy!

I was trying to get a good picture of what the decorations looked like from outside but of course Jess had to finish her pasta right that second and block the tree

I do love her though so it’s okay

This is what the room looks like when we walk in to hang out or make food. I love the way it turned out and can't wait for the rest of the holiday season and of course Christmas day!
I hope you have a lovely festive month

Love,
Sanjana
